of febaruarye in the year of the Lord God m(t) v(c)

Lxvi; I John Wynter of North Roughton (North Runcton)

in the county of Norfolk husbandman beynge

of whole mynd and in good and perfect rememberance

Laude and praise be unto almyghty god

make and ordain this my present testammente

concerninge herein my last will in manner

and forme followinge that is to say ffirst I

commend my soull unto almyghtye god my

maker and redeemer and my bodye to be buryed

in the church yard of Roughton aforesayed

on [w]est side of the allye I bequethe to the

p[ar]son for my tythes neligentlye forgotten xxd

and to the poore mens boxe of the same

church xijd Item I bequeath to Alice

Clarke my sister a blacke hewed cowe and

also vjs viijd that is to saye at Michaelmas

next ensuinge my deceasse iijs iiijd and att

Michelmas next and immeidiatlye after that

to be payed other iijs iiijd Item I will and my

mynd is that Alice my sister shall have

her beynge and dwelling in the kitchinge of

my dwelling howse imeadyatlye after my

deceasse so long and untyll my sonne shall

come and attayne to the full age of xviij years

with ingresse and outegresse at all tymes conveny-

ent provided alwayes and it is my verye will

that my sayed sister Alice shall have nothinge

to do nor meddell at noe tyme with the seller

and the kitchinge but my wife to have it and

enjoye it bothe ingate and outegate withoute

interruption Item I bequeathe to the poore of

the sayed p[ar]ishe by the advisemente and

discreation of my sup[er]visers to ev[er]ye one of

them a b[ushel] of rye to be delyvered at Easter

next after my deceasse

Item I Bequethe to John Clarke my sisters

after my deceasse Item I bequethe to Beartryce

my daughter ij bullockes the one to be

of iij yeares ould the other ij years ould and to be dely-

vered unto her when she shall accomplyshe the

age of xviij years orelse be marryed Item I

give to John Jackson my servennt a blacke

hewed calfe to be delyvered at Michaelmas next

ensuynge after my deceasse Item I give to

Johanne Stonam my Godchilde a cowe bullocke

of ij years ould when she shall attayne and come

to the age of xviij years orelse be marryed

Item I bequeth to my sonne Thomas ij plough

steres of iiij years ould a piece and ij meares of

value or p[ri]ce of iiij £ of good money to be dely-

vered unto him when he shall attayne to the

age of xviij years and my will is that my

sayed sonne at that tyme aforsayed shall in his lyberty

and choise to recieve the sayed iiij £ or ij meares

Item I bequeath to my sayed sonne Thomas xv s

of good money and also iiij milche kyne to be

delyvred unto him when she shall attayne and

come to the sayed age of xviij years moreov[er]

I give to my sayed sonne a good fetherbed

with all that longeth thereto and also a greate

brasse potte and the biggest keatle to be delyvred

at the daye and year aforesayed Item I will that

my sayed sonne Thomas shall inhabite and

have my howse that I nowe dwell in and the

mense with all my lande bothe ffree and bonde

To my sayed howse belongynge or axply-

ninge when he shall attayne and come to the age

of xviij years or else be married and if it

fortune my sayed sonne to decease (as god

yet defend) before he accomplyshe his sayed

age and before that tyme be not marryed

then my will and mynd is that Alyce my

wife shall have and enjoye my sayed

howse me[n]se(?) and lannde bothe ffree and coppye

with the appurtenances thereto belongynge for the

tearme of her life naturall Item I beque-

the to Cycilye Clarke my sisters daughter

a yeare ould bullocke to be delyvider at maye

after my deceasse Item I give to ev[er]ye

one of my Godchildren xijd the residewe

of all my goode[s] and c[h]attell moveable and unne-

moveable after my debte payed and my funerall

expenses performed and those my legacies co[n]te

yned in this my present testament fulfilled

I whollye give and bequeath to my sayed

wife Alice and of this my present testament

I make and ordayne Alyce my sayed wife myne

execuitrix and f[or] the exequition of he samme

I make and ordayne William Woolman and Rich[ar]d

Wynter sup[er]visers and overseeres and I bequeath

to eyther of them for their labor in that

behalfe vjs viijd Item I will that all suche

debte as I owe of ryght or of conscience to

any p[er]son or p[er]sons be well and truely

contented and payed by my executrix and soe to be

payed withoute any delaye or co[n]tradiction
